August 26 -30, 2005 Video Shoot
August 26, 2005

Today I flew out to St. Augustine, Florida to start shooting the video for my next release. It is so beautiful here. I can’t wait to get a jump on the beach tomorrow!

The beach was great today! The water was rough because of Hurricane Katrina. So boogie boarding was a blast! I really wanted to try surfing, but we didn’t have time. Oh well, maybe next time. The rest of the day we went to downtown St. Augustine. I have never seen anything like it. Everything was restored to its original state as when it was built in 1565. It’s the oldest city in the United States, so you can only imagine how amazing it looks!

A day of leisure, and of course some running around to prepare for the video.
Oh, I thought you might like to see a picture of me “Walking all over the CEO of my label”, Ha, Ha!!!!

I met 3 new friends today, my film crew, Tim, Craig, and TJ. They were so much fun, and really made the video shoot comfortable for me. We started off the day scouting out places to do the shoot. There were so many beautiful locations it was hard to choose. The first place was Flagler College, which used to be an old hotel. We got some great balcony shots. We had to take a break so the sun could start going down. We decided to go eat at the famous “Sunset Grill”. It was yuuuuuummmmy! Then we headed to my favorite place, The Beach!! When you’re on the beach, nothing is work! We shot video until after dark.

4:00 AM,
AH!!!!!!!!!! I don’t like this time of day
unless I’m looking at
the
back of my eyelids! We did
sunrise scenes this morning. It was gorgeous! I
normally don’t get to see something like that because I’m asleep. What a treat.
When we finished, we headed off to
Castle Otttis.
When we arrived, It was breath taking. And that was just from seeing the
outside. When we walked in, I felt like I was transported through time and was
in Ireland. As I walked through with astonishment, I could feel God’s presence
in the whole castle. There were beautiful crosses, and at the center of the
castle was a sanctuary where they actually hold a service on Sundays. Castle
Otttis was built in remembrance of Jesus Christ. For more information you can go
to
www.CastleOtttis.com. One of the dreamers name was
Rusty.
He led us through and gave us the grand tour. “Rusty, you are such a wonderful
and generous man. Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. It was
a blessing just being in your presence.” When we left the castle, we were all
still in awe. We headed to a waterfront restaurant called
Cap’s,
a great place with locale flavor and atmosphere. There we shot quite a bit more
footage, and this time we needed more people besides just me. So
Rick,
the owner of
St. Augustine’s Locations
and Film Production Services,
daughter,
Portia,
and
TJ,
helped out. Plus we found a very handsome guy named
Sean
Laferla
to do a couple scenes with me. “Thanks so much for helping out guys! Y’all were
awesome!” By the time we were finished there, it was late, and dark.

Today
I performed at the
Lapeer Days Festival
in
Lapeer, Michigan. The show
went excellent! I also got to see
Dan
and
Barb Savage
and their daughter,
Katie.
They are
John Berry’s
most loyal fans, and my new friends. It was so great to see y’all again! I’m
sure we will be seeing a lot of each other. I can’t wait!” I also ran into a
possible long distant relative. We are going to do some research and find out.
Her last name is Roe also. I really hope we’re related somewhere down the line.
I met so many nice people in Michigan! I hope to be back soon.

We
headed out to Augusta, New Jersey today.
John Berry
and I did a show at the
New Jersey State Fair
in Sussex County. I was really excited to be there because I had never been to
New Jersey before. Plus, one of my new friends,
Robin Stombaugh
and her mom,
JoAnne were there.
They actually drove three hours just to come and see me! That really meant a lot
to me. Robin thanks so much for coming all the way to the fair to see me. I am
really looking forward
to hangin’ with you when you
move to Nashville!
The show went wonderful and I got to meet some of the greatest people there.
