Country Radio Seminar

February 28-29, 2005

I got in to Nashville today. I am here for CRS (Country Radio Seminar) which starts on March 2nd. I had rehearsal today and tomorrow with the band for my upcoming show in California on March 12th. I will be performing for the Seventh Annual Vigil of Hope for The Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation for missing persons. This is a whole different group of songs I will be doing than my regular show. They invited me to come because of the song on my CD “Somebody’s Somebody”.

I always have a great time with these guys. What wonderful musicians!! I really appreciate Buddy Hyatt for charting all this new music for me. We had so much fun in the studio rehearsing and of course, Cutting UP!!

The players that rehearsed with me and are going to play at the Vigil of Hope are Buddy Hyatt, keyboard; Jim Hyatt, bass guitar; Rich Herring, lead guitar; Bobby Segler, drums;

Billy Davis came in for backup vocals. His brother Chip Davis and Heather Piccinini are going to join us in California for additional backup vocals. You can’t get any better than this!

March 2-5, 2005   CRS (Country Radio Seminar)

What a great week. The first day of CRS I met my promoter, Marita Odonnell, at a club called The Stage for a meet and greet. It was so nice to see some of my DJ friends and other fellow artists.

Later that evening I attended the BMI party with my publicist, Susan Collier. It was an honor to meet the bluegrass great Larry Sparks. It was such a great opportunity to hear him sing and perform. I also got to see radio legend Eddie Stubbs again. Last year at Fan Fair Eddie interviewed me on the Ryman Stage after I performed two songs acoustically. He is such a wonderful person. It was awesome to see him again.

The coolest part of the whole party was meeting the famous artist and writer of country music, Tom T. Hall. I will never forget what he said to me. He told me, “When you get rich and famous, you’ll have to send me some money, because I’m retired and that’s the way we do things.” I really enjoyed meeting and talking to him.

After the BMI party we went to a suite at the Hilton Hotel for a video taping to be played at  truck stops. The interview went excellent. I felt right at home. I sang my soon to be new single, “Somebody’s Somebody”. I was blessed to have Brian Austin play acoustic guitar for me. I met him that day for the first time. I was extremely Impressed!! He even sang backup for me. When I finished singing “Somebody’s Somebody”, they asked me if I would sing part of “Shoes”. I was More than happy to oblige. Brian did not know that song so I sang it accapella. I had so much fun and it went great!

The next afternoon I had an interview with New Music Weekly. We talked about anything and everything and had a few laughs.

Later that evening I met with Joe Gerecio. Joe is a great choreographer, conductor and a master at musical arrangements. I always learn so much from Joe during our sessions. We were busy putting together my show for the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation Vigil in Modesto, California next week.

Friday morning I met with Joe Gerecio for another three hours to work some more on the show for the Vigil. We worked out all the details and got the show down pat. What a great way to start the morning. Joe is always so inspiring.
